Couldn’t explain, couldn’t describe,
Fell to my knees, gave a cry,
Grabbed at a sleeve - what would become of me?
Beset all around by harsh light and calumny?
Body estranged, turned in, toward the mind
In search of what grace I could find?

Now I have seen the road to calamity,
